Thomas Haase is the creator of lavera natural cosmetics, who as a child suffered from neurodermatitis, conventional creams brought no relief so, from an early age he took an active interest in ingredients and alternative skin care options. As a student he opened a health food shop and cultivated plants and produced herbal extracts and developed his first formulations. 

After working ten years on developing cosmetics, Thomas started lavera. A small family concern on a farm near Hanover, lavera has developed into a company employing around 100 people at its own premises in the beautiful Deister hills region near Hanover, Germany. A genuine concern for nature and an openness to new ideas and findings are the philosophy behind lavera natural cosmetics.

This is proven by the innovative products such as decorative cosmetics, and by the products being rated as 'Recommended' over 130 times by the critical German consumer magazine OKO TEST.

Lavera don’t use petrochemicals, parabins, artificial (not even nature identical) flavours, colours, aromas, no sodium lauryl / laureth sulphate. The alcohol used for preservation is of a quality suitable for human consumption. Their increasing use of innovative technology has enabled withdrawal of emulsifiers on some products. Many of the herbal and plant derived ingredients are organic (certified by INAC) and marked on the ingredients list.
