The much-acclaimed Brighton Library is one of the UK's most energy efficient public buildings.
Brighton's One Planet Living is the latest project and will be a development like no other situated on New England Street just down from Brighton Station the 30million pound eco village will be the most environmentally advanced in the country. The purpose is to create an environment that is 100% sustainable as well as comfortable and affordable, it will integrate every tried and tested technique of sustainability in on development. Roof mounted turbines with provide the wind power; rainwater will be harvested and used for irrigation and communal WC’s. There will also be facilities for residents to recycle and compost on site. The project will provide 172 new homes, they will range from three-bedroom units to studios designed to encourage first time buyers. 30% of the accommodation will be affordable and there will also be space for the community and charities to use. We personally cannot wait to see this project get started…
